01 Jun Down2Earth Interior Design on FOX 29 Philly
Working moms know how to eek productivity out of every moment we’re not with the kids.  So it should have come as no surprise that everything about being interviewed by Fox 29 host and busy mom Karen Hepp was speedy and efficient.  When Amy was featured on the May 26th, 2018 Bizzy Mama segment with Karen, she was whisked in and out of the studio in about 10 minutes.  But man, what a productive ten minutes!  Warm small talk to break the ice occurred while Amy was getting miked and positioned.  We reviewed the Down2Earth Interior Design portfolio images we’d provided, and then before Amy knew it, the camera was rolling!  Karen asked about Amy’s family, as well as some of the many family-friendly projects that our Down2Earth team has worked on over the years.
Video takes less than 2 minutes.  View it below or click here, to view on Fox29.
First, Karen asked about what kind of design we do.  Amy explained that we focus on low-maintenance, family friendly, and sustainable interior design.  Amy was asked to elaborate on how she deals with the common scenario of a Philly row house where each room opens to the next and there is typically no foyer to store all the stuff that a busy family needs.  Amy also explained her process for designing a super-efficient and organized mudroom.
Check out our previous posts on this:
The process begins with inventorying and finding a place for all the things a busy family needs when they’re coming and going!
We also got into some detail on sustainable interiors. Amy discussed using reclaimed wood for a kitchen peninsula that was acquired from the walls of a former bank boardroom.  Not only are we reusing materials and avoiding creating additional waste, but the material is already aged and has acquired a beautiful patina.
Amy reiterated the principal on which Down2Earth interior design was founded: that you don’t need to break the bank or live in a pristine museum to have a beautiful home.
Thank you for watching Amy’s Fox 29 News interview!
