King Tut Day, celebrating the gold trend

Have you noticed how everything from furniture to flatware seems to be dipped in gold these days? We saw the gold trend heading our way a while back and are loving all of the gilded items available now.

What better day to celebrate gold than today, King Tut Day? In honor of the gilded goods found in King Tut’s Ancient Egypt tomb, why not bring some gold into your home today?

This wallpaper has been a long-time favorite of ours. Nature-inspired with a shimmer of gold, this would be wonderful in a bedroom, bathroom, or even lining the back of a bookcase. We used it in a client’s master bedroom last year.

Loving the flexibility of this coffee table! An interesting shape and one that can be used in a multitude of ways — group them together for one larger coffee table or separate them throughout your house. One can be used as a bedside table or an accent table next to a chair. It’s small size makes it perfect to hold a book and a drink. Or tuck two under an entryway console. It will be pretty to look at and functional when you have company over since the tables can be moved around to become extra seating. The possibilities are endless for this one. Like a traditional sunburst mirror but better. Graphic and gold, this would add personality above your mantle or vanity. (Anthropologie Helios Mirror)

Jonathan Adler has tons of gold accents throughout their furniture line this year. With it’s curvy details and balance of linen and gold, we can picture this piece throughout the home — as an ottoman next to a comfy chair, a perch for the bathroom or dressing room, or in lieu of a formal coffee table, place two side by side in front of a couch. Have you been going for the gold in your home? Send us your pics — we’d love to see!
