We work together to create an interior environment that meets your needs and simultaneously considers the needs of the larger community and the environment. Wherever we design, context is an important factor – we get that what works in Philadelphia is different from what works in Phoenix, where different environmental factors, like heat and sunlight, dust and sand, and water conservation are all in play.

One size does not fit all when it comes to designer, Stephanie. With 10 years of experience in interior design, she strives to find the perfect design to match the individual. Her background in model home design has given her the opportunity to work on projects from the initial concept to the final staging of the home. Stephanie views the world through an artistic lens and finds inspiration all around her. With a passion for traveling and exploring the outdoors, she loves to incorporate natural elements and unique decor for a relaxed, but curated design.
In addition to the passion and skills that Stephanie brings to her Phoenix projects, we have a diverse team connected remotely with a combined 50 years & backgrounds in Architecture, Business, and Graphic Design.
Stephanie ... did a wonderful job guiding me to a high-quality and reasonably affordable (considering the high-quality) collection of furniture and furnishings for my new condo's living room. She knew just how to translate my interest in midcentury modernism ... If money for you *is* an object, and if you care about design *and* the environment, I don't see how you can do better than Stephanie and Amy.

Arizona is a beautiful state with a rich history and diverse cultural scene. From the colors and textures of rock formations and desert canyons to the bold, geometric patterns and motifs found in Native American art, Arizona has a lot to offer in terms of design inspiration.
The city of Phoenix has a thriving arts district with numerous galleries, museums, and festivals. Murals, sculptures, and interactive art installations reflect the character and culture of the city. We love to work with local artists and makers to create unique, curated designs for our clients.
The natural materials of Arizona have influenced the architecture and interior design of the region. These materials provide insulation against the extreme temperatures, keeping interiors cool during the day and retaining warmth at night. Not only does this create beautiful homes, but it also helps homes be more sustainable.
Although temperatures can sore in the summer, the year round sunny weather and mild winter climate of Phoenix makes it a great location for designing (and enjoying!) beautiful outdoor living spaces.
We begin with an initial consultation in your space. During this meeting, we will get to know each other, walk you through our design process, review the space along with your personal style and your goals, identifying areas that may benefit from further design exploration. There is a flat fee for this meeting.
Because every project is different, and every client’s needs are different, an hourly fee structure is typically the best way to ensure that we are working just on the tasks where you need assistance. After our initial walk through, we give you a ballpark estimate of how many hours we think your project is going to take based on what we discussed at your initial consultation. These projects usually include: space planning, furniture and finish recommendations, moodboards, customs casework and custom window treatments.
If you are looking one time assistance with your project, our Designer for the Day package might be perfect for you. We can spend the day together and brainstorm furniture layouts, research furniture/ decor selections, narrow down paint/ finish selections, etc. After of meeting we will send you a review of what we discussed so you can reference as you complete the project. There is a flat fee for this meeting.
At down2earth interior design begin each project by understanding your vision. Through a collaborative process involving discussions and image review, we seek to uncover what inspires our clients. There is no signature “down2earth Interior Design” style of design. Instead, we are conduits for your own personal style and the beautiful southwestern influences we find here in Arizona/ Phoenix area. Our signature is the way we work – by being good listeners and collaborators, and by offering educated guidance to help you make the best choices for your interior.
Each project begins with an initial consultation. During this meeting, we seek to understand the opportunities and constraints of a space and the functions it will accommodate. Seeing your space in person is crucial to understanding all the little details that make your home or workplace unique. During our first visit, we will:
We begin your project by creating dimensioned plans and elevations. This first pass is purposely sketchy as these drawings will serve as a basis for a conversation about what layout makes the most sense. During this phase we will:
Once we’ve finalized the floor plan, we begin product research and create moodboards. In this phase we will:
