This kitchen, in the Bella Vista section of Philadelphia, was dark and old when the homeowner called in down2earth interior design to brighten up and modernize the space.
The warmth of pesto cabinet color references the colors of nature without competing with the warm, dark neutrals already there, such as the exposed brick and wood beams. We were able to order extra paint from the cabinet manufacturer to have the door to the basement painted to match the cabinetry. Beautiful solid surface countertops look like natural stone without the maintenance, and the new mosaic backsplash sparkles under the ample additional lighting that we incorporated under the upper cabinets.
A favorite feature is the drawer-style dishwasher. By running just one drawer at a time, this couple can use water resources more efficiently.
